Ambitious sports reporter Erik (Josh Hartnett) discovers that a local homeless man named Champ (Samuel L. Jackson) was once a famous boxer, long presumed dead. Erik digs deeper into the fascinating story and becomes friends with the down-and-out former star but soon uncovers several disturbing questions about Champ's background.
